The fibers of this silk pillowcase are impregnated with copper oxide, a powerful mineral that stimulates the production of collagen resulting in clinically proven antiaging benefits.
When in contact with the skin, copper up-regulates the secretion of extracellular skin proteins and stabilizes the skins scaffolding, the extracellular matrix. As copper can be absorbed through the skin, it has been shown that sleeping on pillowcases containing copper-impregnated fibers is able to reduce the appearance of skin wrinkles and give an overall improvement of skin appearance. In addition, copper has powerful anti-viral and antimicrobial properties, so skin conditions like acne are improved.
Silk is a sustainable, biodegradable and renewable resource, that is biocompatible with our skin. We have 90% of our amino acids in common with the proteins found in silk. This high level of affinity means that skin responds well to contact with silk and can help maintain the skin's humidity levels and reduce moisture loss that contributes towards dry skin. Studies have found silk is a potential treatment for inflammatory skin conditions like atopic dermatitis and eczema.
This 100% Mulberry silk pillowcase is made from the highest-grade silk (6A) of 22 Momme weight. The size is 51cm x 76cm with an envelope closure. OEKO-TEX® certified.
